Scrap a Star
Hey scrapbookers, do you have a favorite, show, sports idol, movie star, rock star. Once upon a time scrapbooks were just that. They were books filled with scraps of paper that related to the life of the person who kept it. Articles about family, events, schools, and yes even their favorite star. How many scrapbooks do you think are out there related to Elvis Presley, or the Browns ( that’s our favorite local root for’em team),Marylin Monroe or John Wayne? Well there is no reason our modern scrapbooking techniques can’t be transferred to this old scrapping favorite.
On my Websight printabledigitaldesign.com you will find a pdf file filled with star appropriate scrapbooking art. I am sure there are plenty of purchasable stickers and pages that would work just as well. Remember that scrapbooks are about you and the things that you care about. If you are a concert violinist perhaps you want to scrap a page about your inspiration? If you are a couch potatoe, why not mention your favorite shows. It certainly will tell the future generations about not only your personality, but about your life and what things were like when you made your book. Will your kids remember that you watched Hawii-Five-O when you were little? This may make them smile to think about when you are no longer with them.
The internet of course is a wonderful source of photos and images of your favorites, but there is also the library, where you could scan from books images of that star you just loved. As long as you only put it in your scrapbook, I am sure there will be no problem with copywrighting laws. You can also cut up labels, magazines, newspapers, to add your favorite stars to your scrapbook. Don’t forget to journal. Tell about who they were, and why they were important to your life. Most of all have fun!
